In this project students will learn about the history, culture, landscape, and flavors of northern New Mexico. They will explore the influence of the Hispanic and Pueblo cultures in the region's art and architecture, and the legacy of American modernist artist Georgia O'Keeffe. They will also explore the awesome and unique caverns located at Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Students will visit the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, the Taos Art Museum, and the Museum of International Folk Art. Additionally, students will visit Georgia O'Keeffe’s Ghost Ranch and the Echo Amphitheater in Abiquiu. As students learn about regional culture, they will also have the opportunity to taste many of the local dishes composing the traditional New Mexican cuisine.
