Welcome to Overlake Admissions
Welcome to The Overlake School. We're so glad you have decided to consider us for your child’s education. Overlake is the oldest independent coeducational college preparatory program in the Seattle area. You can look back on the school's amazing history.
From its modest roots in the small basement of a local YMCA to the beautiful 73-acre hilltop campus of today, the physical resources of the school have changed greatly. But what has remained consistent throughout its history is a commitment to the mission of the school. Our mission challenges us to provide our students the tools to be successful academically in college and to help them develop the skills they need to be productive, engaged members of the communities they join later in life. Overlake graduates are entrepreneurs, writers, programmers, doctors, lawyers, aid workers, financiers, and scholars to name a few. The common theme when you talk to one of our graduates is that they received not only the skills to be successful in life, however they might define it, but that they have the social and emotional resources to live well, to build strong relationships, and to be engaged in communities that provide meaning in their lives.
Admissions Updates
- Upper School applicant interviews will be held in-person at The Overlake School from January 8-15th. There will be two time slots to register for (3:30-4:00 pm, 4:15 – 4:45 pm), and we will email the registration link to Upper School applicant families who have completed the “Overlake Initial Application” step of the process and paid the application fee in late November.
- We are diligently processing all documents, and appreciate your patience as we work through this process. Please know that we are committed to reviewing each application carefully and thoroughly, which may take some time.
If your application is still incomplete by January, we will reach out to you directly to notify you of any missing information or next steps. Documents not received by the application deadline that are not in direct control of the applicant family will not negatively impact the application.
