Welcome to Overlake Admissions
Welcome to The Overlake School. We're so glad you have decided to consider us for your child’s education. Overlake is the oldest independent coeducational college preparatory program in the Seattle area. You can look back on the school's amazing history.
From its modest roots in the small basement of a local YMCA to the beautiful 73-acre hilltop campus of today, the physical resources of the school have changed greatly. But what has remained consistent throughout its history is a commitment to the mission of the school. Our mission challenges us to provide our students the tools to be successful academically in college and to help them develop the skills they need to be productive, engaged members of the communities they join later in life. Overlake graduates are entrepreneurs, writers, programmers, doctors, lawyers, aid workers, financiers, and scholars to name a few. The common theme when you talk to one of our graduates is that they received not only the skills to be successful in life, however they might define it, but that they have the social and emotional resources to live well, to build strong relationships, and to be engaged in communities that provide meaning in their lives.
Admissions Updates
- The Overlake Admissions Team will be observing the Winter Break from December 23rd until January 2nd. During this time, we will not be processing documents or checking email, and will respond once we are back in the office on January 2nd.
- This is a friendly reminder that financial aid applications are due February 6 for applying and re-enrolling families. To apply for financial aid, please create an account at Clarity. If you have any reservations about whether your family would qualify for financial aid, we would encourage you to apply. Applying for financial aid does not negatively impact an applicant’s candidacy, and enrolling a diverse socioeconomic class is a key part of our strategic goal to serve deserving students from all walks of life.
- Upper School applicant interviews will be held in-person at The Overlake School from January 8-15th. There will be two time slots to register for (3:30-4:00 pm, 4:15 – 4:45 pm), and we will email the registration link to Upper School applicant families who have completed the “Overlake Initial Application” step of the process and paid the application fee in late November.
- If your application is still incomplete by January, we will reach out to you directly to notify you of any missing information or next steps. Documents not received by the application deadline that are not in direct control of the applicant family will not negatively impact the application.
