How to Apply For An Extended Education Project Week in Upper School

Follow this link then click “Enroll in Course.”  Next follow the directions in the course to complete applications. Applications are due by Sept 16th.

Trip Overview: Participants will spend five days visiting ten colleges and universities in New England. Visits to each campus will include a guided tour, admission and information session, and the opportunity to meet with Overlake alumni who are currently attending each school that is included on the 2020 trip itinerary. Our 2020 trip itinerary is featured on page three of this application.

This Project Week experience is limited to current 10th and 11th grade students at Overlake. Twenty-five students will be selected. Preference will be given to Overlake Juniors who plan to participate in the B’Hoot Camp College Planning Workshop on Saturday, January 11, 2020. Three members of the Overlake College Counseling team will lead this trip.

Project Week Credit & Travel Details: Credit for Project Week requires a student to complete a minimum of four full visit days of the 2020 College Experience, Monday, March 30 - Thursday, April 2, 2020. Any changes to a student’s air travel that alter the following trip itineray are an additional expense to the fixed group rate and must be coordinated/purchased separately by each student/their parent(s).

Estimated Trip Cost, Colleges Experience 2020: $2,250 per person

Includes air and ground transportation, all meals, hotel lodging in a shared room, student-led campus tours, meetings with admission representatives and Overlake alumni, and materials for evaluating schools.    

Important Information about Roundtrip Air Travel for The Colleges Experience 2020:

Roundtrip air travel for each student and chaperone on this trip is purchased at a group rate and may not be altered or exhanged. The price of this trip is fixed, and once confirmed, it is non-refundable. If a student wishes to depart early or to alter their return flight, they/ their parent(s) must pay the full trip fee and coordinate and purchase a separate flight home at their own expense. Early departures must be met by a parent or adult proxy to confirm an early release. Kate Asgari must be notified by a participant’s parents or guardians by email by March 1, 2020 if a student does not plan to return with the New England Colleges & Universities Experience 2020 group.
