5th Grade Latin

This is a full-year course designed to give students a basic introduction to studying a world language and to the principles of language in general. Students will learn the building blocks and patterns of language through simple Latin grammar and vocabulary. All language study will focus on parallels with English grammar as well as English and Romance language derivatives. Individual and group projects will complement the students' experience of the language and culture. The course exposes students to a wealth of Greek and Latin culture, emphasizing cross-cultural interaction and the ancient world’s impact on many modern cultures.
