Haiku: Exploring Nature in Seventeen Syllables

The purpose of this project week is to encourage students to confront their thoughts and approaches to solitude, nature, paper, and mind. In an age where technology and digital devices have taken center stage, this project serves to give students the opportunity to channel their focus from external to internal, see the sights of the Pacific Northwest at leisure, and explore the distance of clarity (sometimes, with a slight shift in perspective, that sense of feeling “refreshed” can be accomplished without having to take a single step, or flight, in any direction)!
