Upper School Sports Night Honors Owls
Tuesday evening, the Overlake community came out in force to thank our 229 student athletes at our Upper School Sports Night.
This year’s program full of student involvement highlighted academic achievement, fan support, individual and team honors.
Athletic Director says it’s an event for the entire Owl community. “In 80 minutes we acknowledged every high school athlete,” says Wiley. “Whether they’re the kid who is the star player with a state championship or the student athlete who is on the JV team from a sport way back in the fall, we want all of them to know how much we appreciate them.”
He adds that this year’s program to recognize our newest Athletics Hall of Fame entry, the 2009 State Champion Boys’ Lacrosse team, was meant to inspire our current students to recognize our past and learn a lesson for the future. “We continue to see our mission thrive through athletics and seeing that character in our kids makes me so proud to be a part of Overlake. Thanks to all the kids, coaches, and fans,” says Wiley.
