MS Basketball Information
Although it’s just starting to feel like fall, it’s time to start thinking about Overlake’s only winter sports offering basketball. Last year we saw record numbers of students participating in the sport, and middle school students flocked to the game. That’s why MS Athletic Director Mike Fine wants Overlake families to plan now and register their child for a team. Below is his letter to the families of boys and girls interested in playing basketball this season that includes information on evaluations.
Dear MS Parents,
With the outside temperatures starting to drop, the rain starting to sneak back into the forecast and the daylight decreasing it is time to start thinking about MS basketball. The season will be here shortly, and we would like to get a better understanding of who will be participating in our Winter sports offering. One of the most important things parents can do right now is to have a conversation with your child about their desire to play.
If your son or daughter would like to play basketball, please verify they are registered. Many parents did this for their child while completing their medical forms via Schooldocs. To sign up, verify or deselect your child for basketball, please click here for instructions.
MS Boys Basketball with begin on Monday, October 23rd with player evaluations. Player evaluations will run from October 23rd through October 25th from 3:15 – 4:30. Teams will be announced the evening of October 25th via email to families.
MS Girls Basketball will begin on Monday, October 30th with player evaluations. Player evaluations will run from October 30th through November 1st from 3:15 – 4:30. Teams will be announced the evening of November 1st via email to families.
If a student has an excused absence from school planned during their respective player evaluation period, I would ask that you please contact me mfine@overlake.org and we can work to arrange a make-up day.
