Starting this season, Overlake’s Athletic Department is offering our community the opportunity to view sporting events on demand.

Thanks to The National Federation of State High School Associations(NFHS), Overlake is the first school in Washington to use a subscriber service for Owls’ fans to catch their favorite games in Overlake’s gymnasium.

Using Pixellot technology, MS Athletic Director Mike Fine worked with the NFHS Network to bring the service to Overlake. “Whether they want to watch it live or check out on demand at a later time, the investment in this technology allows us to bring the action to fans online,” says Fine. “It’s great because you can use up to three different logins at the same time so a family could spread that login around the world if they’d like.“

This season fans will be able to enjoy volleyball and basketball games through their laptops, tablets, and smartphones with a variety of subscriptions offered by the month, four months, and the entire school year.

Another perk of the service is the ability to view events by any school that is part of the NFHS Network. “That’s great for grandparents who may live in Massachusetts who can now watch their grandchildren play here at Overlake and somewhere down in Florida,” says Fine. A great feature of the program is the four-camera HD Pixellot technology which follows the action without the need of a crew behind the cameras.

“Parents are busy. There are a lot of 3:30 middle school and JV sporting events that parents just can’t get to every time,” says Fine. “This not only promotes our student athletes in competition, but it gives us something as Owls’ fans to rally around.” Fine adds that the service is not just for sports adding that any event in our gym including graduation and our popular Sports Night Celebration can now be viewed through the online network.
