Spanish III

World Languages

At this level students review and continue to extend their knowledge of the Spanish language and culture necessary for communication in a variety of situations. Although oral communication continues to be stressed, equal emphasis is now placed on improving listening and reading skills through in-class readings, and developing writing skills through guided compositions. Students are introduced to works of modern Hispanic literature through authentic excerpts, adapted texts, short stories and poetry and short films. The study of culture is based on a variety of authentic sources, such as magazine articles, films, the internet and current music. Students prepare a project involving one aspect of Spanish-speaking culture.
