(Almost) Alone: Outdoor Skills & Adventure
This course introduces students to basic bushcraft, outdoor leadership, survival principles, and backpacking. Participants will develop leadership, independence, and self-reliance while gaining practical skills in navigation, wilderness first aid, knot-tying, hiking, camping, and spending time alone in nature. Designed as a girls-only experience for grades 6-8, the course aims to create a safe and inclusive environment where students can push their limits, learn without fear of judgment, and foster a community of empowerment. No prior outdoor experience is required, but participants should be ready for physical challenges and problem-solving in real-world situations. Note: This course is limited to first-time participants who did not attend last year.
