Battle of the Books 2018!

Students on Battle of the Books teams

After long months of waiting and prep, today we had our three-school Battle of the Books at St. Thomas School, against St. Thomas and Open Window. Two Overlake teams participated (pictured), being the top two teams from Overlake's Fall Battle of the Books. The Battle of the Books challenges teams to answer questions from a set list of books, half chosen by the students. The questions are always answered with title and author of the book. Sample question: "In which book does the main character think it would be less painful to be shot from a cannon than to go to school?" (Answer below). Congratulations to Overlake Team Two, which tied with Open Window Team Two for the win!

Answer: Fish in a Tree, by Lynda Mullaly Hunt
