Visiting Poet Workshops with 6th Graders

A fortunate few self-selected 6th graders enjoyed two poetry revision workshops with local poet Deborah Bacharach, author of over 100 published poems and the adult poetry book After I Stop Lying. Bacharach demonstrated her revision process, specifically working to make images more vivid through word choice, metaphor, and internal rhymes. She worked individually with students to revise their own poems, with the goal of having students submit some of their poetry to national contests. More pictures are available on Vidigami.
