Holly Harris - Class of 2018
“The mountains are calling and I must go” is a common catchphrase for imprinted stainless steel camping mugs and outdoor equipment decals, but the phrase could not ring more true for Class of 2018 alum Holly Harris. After graduating from Bowdoin College in 2022, Holly bounced around the PNW and West Coast spending time in Idaho, Washington, and California where she worked as a 6th grade teacher, an outdoor education leader, a baker at a remote high-alpine lodge, and most recently, an Account Coordinator for OutsidePR, a public relations firm for outdoor brands including The North Face and Wild Rye.
Through her various work experiences, Holly has always prioritized balancing outdoor adventures, a yearning that harkens back to her time at Overlake where she signed up for every Outdoor Ed adventure that alumni faculty member Kent Renno would let her take.
In April of 2024, Holly started mountain bike racing and is levelling up her racing experience by tackling cross-country and enduro bike racing. In summer of 2024, Holly and her mom, alum parent Katy Harris, hiked the Dolomites in an epic mother daughter trip. We at Overlake envision a future where Holly is leading Outdoor Ed trips and Project Weeks with our Department of Experiential Education. The mountains, and Overlake, are calling you Holly!
