Unlikely Superhero Contest!

The Unlikely Superheroes Contest challenged students to create an unlikely superhero and their unlikely power, a ridiculous crisis for them to solve, and how they solved it. You can see all the entries here.

Winners 2021!

1st Place

Superhero: Chef TasteBud, who can make foods taste different without changing the actual food!

Crisis: Children are always complaining about eating their vegetables!         

"When it came to the attention of Chef Taste Bud that children never ordered the salad that came as a side with the pizzas he served at his restaurant, he was quite puzzled. Salads were healthy and delicious! Chef Bud asked a  5-year-old girl once why she ordered fries instead of a salad and received the unsurprising response, ""Salads are yucky!"" Upon closer inspection, Chef Bud also noticed that parents were desperately trying to feed their children vegetables and received the same response. Chef Bud sighed. He had kept his power secret for long enough. Now seemed like the best time to reveal it to the world, and hey, he might even get some profit out of it. Outside his restaurant, he put up a new sign...

Two years later:

It had been so long since he'd announced his powers to the world, but business was still booming. After parents learned that Chef TasteBud could make the healthiest kale juice taste like a chocolate milkshake, everyone was bringing their kids to The TasteBud. Now, children never complained when their parents ordered for them; they knew TasteBud could make the food taste just like Jolly Ranchers if they wanted! And parents never had to worry about their kids eating either! They could eat their sophisticated oysters without the children complaining. (Ok but let's face it - even the parents were secretly ordering asking for their oysters to be flavored like burgers. Who likes oysters anyway?!")

2nd Place

Superhero: Taco Teen, who can create extra spicy tacos out of thin air. The tacos can dissolve enemies from their spicy salsa.

Crisis:  Two big cutting boards come alive and are trying to poke the city with the extra sharp knives!

3rd Place

Superhero: Wifi Honcho, who has absolute control over wireless networks.        

Crisis: At this point in time, everybody is online. The supervillain, Insomniatic Maniac, has used their power of keeping people awake to disrupt students' sleep schedules and force them to retire much to late! At this rate, the students will miss school by sleeping in!
