The power is back at Overlake and campus will open at 3:00 p.m. We are in the process of getting the buildings back online with heat and will be ready for the evening performance of Annie Jr. in Fulton Performing Arts Center, and for Robotics Sunday in the gym. This afternoon the US basketball teams and cast of Annie Jr. will be on campus practicing and rehearsing beginning at 3:00 p.m. Arts faculty and athletics coaches will reach out directly to the cast/crew/teams with details. We look forward to seeing many of you at Annie Jr. tonight and everyone back in classes Monday. Thank you for your partnership and community during this uncertain time.
The first MS Book Club of the year met in two sections, since the Spy School books by Stuart Gibbs are so popular! Students solved a rebus (see above), searched for a physical key to open a treasure box that held a black light reader, and used the reader to read the secret code (see above) to find their cookies. We then discussed the book, in which a boy is drafted into spy school with zero experience! Thanks to Mrs. Flora for participating; books are not just for kids!
